Garden Club - Grandmother Block

Decided to include this Grandmother block from Country Threads' Life in the Country book instead of the girl block in the original quilt.  Since I'm not sure how well this block will fit, I plan to add another rectangle at the back and probably will applique a basket of tulips behind Grandmother.

I'm taking a hand quilting class once a month and tomorrow is the day that I get four hours of uninterrupted quilting bliss to work on my Millenium Garden quilt!  Since the hoop and I do not get along, I'm just laying it out flat to hand quilt it and hopefully it won't turn out too wonky - tried to baste it fairly close.  I'm really loving the thimble pictured on the quilt - not sure of the brand name but its so comfortable.

Will leave you with a little spring - the daffodils are late this year, but its so nice to see their sweet little faces on a dreary day. Planted most of the bulbs in pots this year, so looking forward to seeing what comes up! Hope you all have a lovely weekend with some time to stitch or work in your garden.

Love your quilt, Dixie. Lucky you gets to spend the afternoon with it! I have a few thimbles, I think one is like yours, I like to use. Depends on the task and the size of my finger (tends to swell in the summer). Sweet daffodils! Ours are blooming early this year.

Your "Millennium Garden" is wonderful! I think I used more muted tones than you did. I like that you used a red star in the wreath I can see in the picture. I repeated a subtle gold that I had used elsewhere in the quilt. It doesn't show a lot in the block.

I stopped on my Country Threads garden quilt when I made the dog block. I don't think it looks much like a dog and meant to pick another pattern in its place. I didn't mean to procrastinate so long in doing that. I like the lady block you made for yours. Good choice.

Your daffodils are lovely! Ours are early which is not good.
Love the gardening grandma - very nice addition to your project.

Your daffies are way ahead of mine. Maybe it has something to do with the weather- I had snow in my backyard Thursday.

I like the idea of the grandmother block and she's so cute! She should fit in well.

LOVE your Grandma block choice - she is just perfect *s* And I love seeing your MG being hand quilted. It is a quilt that really deserves hand quilting. I think you will enjoy no hoop. I fought that hoop for a long time and love the freedom without it. And the daffodils - they remind me of my mom. She had them all across the back of the house. They were like pretty yellow soldiers, standing so straight, but cheerful.

I was cured of HIV with the use of natural herbs that I ordered through Dr Itua Herb store https://drituaherbalcenter.com/shop/. I love Traditional Medicine so much. Most times, injection and drugs are just a waste of time and money. I was cured 3weeks ago, i suffered from HIV for 5yrs but with the help of Dr. Itua herbal medicine, I was cured within three weeks of drinking the herbs he sent to me through courier delivery service. This same man also cured my Aunt from herpes, as soon as I heard she had herpes, I referred her to the doctor and she was cured after drinking his herbs.I have referred more than 18 persons and they were all cured from their various illnesses. Have you taken herbs before?. You have spent so much money on drugs, injections, surgeries etc and yet you have no good result to show for it. This man is a herbal doctor, I assure you of cure if you drink his natural herbs.
